Baku:Ceremonial events commemorating World Teachers’ Day on October 5 were held at special educational institutions affiliated with National Defense University.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, The events included a moment of silence to honor National Leader Heydar Aliyev and those who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the Motherland. The attendees also participated in the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Speakers at the event provided insights into the origins and history of International Teachers’ Day and discussed its annual observance as a national occasion in Azerbaijan, following a decree signed by Heydar Aliyev. They highlighted the critical role of teachers in the intellectual development of society, noting the deep respect the Azerbaijani people have for educators, who have consistently received state attention and support.
The events concluded with the presentation of awards to a group of teaching staff members who had made significant contributions to the advancement of education.
