Azerbaijan to inaugurate newly built mosque in Zangilan-PHOTO


In a few minutes, the newly built mosque in Zangilan will be inaugurated, APA reports.

The foundation of the new mosque in Zangilan was laid by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on April 26, 2021, after the city was liberated from occupation.

The construction of the mosque was carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation with the support of “PASHA Holding” LLC.

Chinese company, Tajikistan discuss solar panel complex construction in Sughd region


DUSHANBE: A Chinese company and Tajikistan discussed the construction of a solar panel complex in the Sughd region of the country, Trend reports.

According to the regional administration’s press service, this issue was explored during a meeting between Sughd Governor Rajabboy Ahmadzoda and representatives of the Chinese State Investment Group company.

The parties discussed expanding cooperation on importing a modern complex to create a functional alternative energy supply system. Ahmadzoda noted that the region is ready to utilize the latest technologies for electricity production.

Following the meeting, Ahmadzoda instructed responsible officials to thoroughly study the issue, prepare all necessary documents, and take measures to allocate land for the construction of the green energy facility and an administrative building.

It was noted that State Investment Group has extensive experience in creating alternative energy production systems, particularly solar batteries and panels. It is implementing large-s
cale projects in many countries around the world.

Foundation stone was laid for Karkhulu village in Jabrayil VIDEO


President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the village of Karkhulu in Jabrayil district.

The head of state received a briefing on the upcoming development work in the village.

Karkhulu, situated within the administrative boundaries of Jabrayil district, is bordered to the north by the Ahmadbayli-Horadiz-Minjivan-Aghbend highway and to the south and southeast by the Horadiz-Aghbend railway line.

The development plans for Karkhulu aim to cover an area of 313 hectares by 2040. This includes the construction of 940 individual houses and several multi-story residential buildings to accommodate 4,428 residents. The village infrastructure will include administrative buildings, community clubs, family and sports health centres, commercial and household service buildings, and small business facilities. Furthermore, the master plan entails the construction of two secondary schools and four kindergartens.

The initial phase of development, aligned with the First Sta
te Program on the Great Return until 2026, will cover an area of 125 hectares. Plans for this phase include the construction of 145 individual houses to accommodate 691 residents.

Azerbaijan represented at 79th General Assembly and Congress of International Military Sports Council


A delegation led by Chief of the Central Army Sports Club of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense Lieutenant Colonel Ramig Orujov attended the 79th General Assembly and Congress of the International Military Sports Council (CISM) held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The session, chaired by Colonel Nilton Rolim, CISM President, and with the participation of representatives from 82 countries, discussed the organization’s mission, its objectives, and the main issues aimed at the development of military sports on a global scale. In addition, detailed reports on the activities and achievements of the organization over the last years were presented.

As part of the session, the formation of the CISM Sports Policy, including the approval of the sports calendars for 2024, 2025 and 2026, and a comprehensive 5-year plan were worked out, and experience was exchanged on joint activities for the development of military sports.

The Central Army Sports Club of the Defense Ministry has been an active member of CISM since 1995. Th
e servicemen of the Azerbaijan Army successfully participated in the World and European championships held by this organization and took 78 gold, 66 silver and 103 bronze medals.

Azerbaijani President lays foundation stone of Mashanli village of Jabrayil district-UPDATED


President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the ground-breaking ceremony for the village of Mashanli in Jabrayil district, APA reports.

The head of state was briefed on the upcoming developments in the village based on its master plan.

By 2040, the designated area for development in the village would encompass 157.54 hectares. Over this period, plans entail the construction of 590 individual houses to accommodate 2,360 residents.

All necessary amenities to ensure the livelihoods of the village residents will be provided in the village. Plans include the establishment of administrative buildings, community clubs, sports and health facilities, medical centers, ceremonial houses, bazaar complex, as well as commercial, public catering, and small business facilities. Furthermore, according to the master plan, a secondary school building and two kindergartens are scheduled for construction in the village.

Aligned with the First State Program on the Great Return, the first phase of resettlemen
t will cover 50 hectares of land, taking into consideration the living needs of the population to be settled in this area. This phase will see construction of 236 individual houses to accommodate 944 residents.

Azerbaijani President and First Lady attended inauguration of Aghali hotel in Zangilan district-UPDATED


President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the Aghali Hotel in the village of Aghali, the Zangilan district, APA reports.

Vahid Hajiyev, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan districts, provided the head of state and the First Lady with an overview of the hotel’s amenities.

Situated 20 kilometers from the center of the city of Zangilan, the Aghali Hotel stands beside an artificial lake formed by the Hakari River. The three-storey hotel features restaurants, a 60-seat conference hall, a 20-seat meeting room, and a fitness center.

Turkmenistan aims to boost regional gas production


ASHGABAT: Turkmenistan’s Turkmengaz State Concern is taking practical measures to extract additional volumes of oil and natural gas, search and develop the country’s deposits, Trend reports.

This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan Batyr Amanov, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

“In this regard, the Turkmengaz State Concern is conducting drilling operations at the sites of the Lebap and Mary regions. This will make it possible to identify gas-bearing formations and increase natural gas production,” he said.

Summarizing the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers that great attention is paid to the production of additional volumes of oil and natural gas in the country.

In this context, the head of state instructed the Deputy Chairman to exercise strict control over the work carried out in this direction.

Meanwhile, the Turkmengaz State Concern estimates the nation’s hydrocarbon resources at over 71 bil
lion tons of oil equivalent.

This volume includes more than 20 billion tons of oil and more than 50 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
