Jakarta:Russia is developing a comprehensive research program for the Caspian Sea, set to continue through 2030, with the goal of creating a digital twin to forecast water level changes.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Vladimir Putin announced the initiative at the Caspian Environmental Summit, highlighting the program’s focus on studying changes in water levels and mitigating their adverse effects. The research findings will be shared with all involved parties.
Putin also proposed the creation of a digital twin of the Caspian Sea, a high-precision virtual model utilizing artificial intelligence. This model would analyze factors such as evaporation, precipitation, and river flow to predict future water level scenarios, improving navigation routes and safety.
The Russian government has invited CIS member states to participate in this innovative initiative.
