Public Prosecutor Recommends 3-Year Prison Sentence for Ukrainian Millionaire Oleg Krapivin


Baku: The next trial in the criminal case involving Oleg Krapivin, a Ukrainian millionaire known in criminal circles as “Oleg Bakinsky,” and Konstantin Kucher, was held, APA reports. The proceedings concluded today at the Baku Court on Grave Crimes under the chairmanship of Judge Elnur Nuriyev.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, public prosecutor Tural Yagubov proposed a 14-year prison sentence for Konstantin Kucher and a 3-year sentence for Oleg Krapivin. The victim’s lawyer, Samir Isayev, agreed with the prosecutor’s recommendations and requested the court to approve the civil lawsuit. Meanwhile, the defense attorneys requested additional time to prepare their statements.



The next trial is scheduled for June 20. Last year, “Oleg Bakinsky” was detained by police in Baku on charges of hooliganism against a Russian citizen. He faces charges under Articles 127.2.3 and 221.3 of the Criminal Code, which involve intentional infliction of less serious harm and hooliganism with the use of weapons or objects as weapons. Initially arrested, his detention was later replaced with house arrest during the trial.



Konstantin Antonovich Kucher, a former Deputy Minister of Defense Industry of Ukraine for Aviation Affairs, is also implicated in the case. He faces charges under Articles 178.4 and 221.3 of the Criminal Code, involving fraud and hooliganism with the use of weapons. The victims identified in the case are “Aviazapchast” OJSC, “Promyshlennye Postavki Kazakhstan” LLC, and Zakharenkov Valery Nikolayevich.
