President Aliyev Urges Action on Caspian Sea Level Decline


Turkmenbashi:President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of assessing the potential long-term effects of changes affecting the Caspian Sea during his speech at the Caspian Environmental Summit.



According to Azeri-Press news agency, President Aliyev highlighted that the decline in the Caspian Sea level is influenced not only by climate change but also by reduced river inflow and human activities related to economic endeavors.



He urged the need for a proactive approach to understand these changes and incorporate this understanding into decision-making processes. This would allow for timely interventions to mitigate the impact of further sea level declines.



President Aliyev also noted that the existing legal framework, along with scientific capabilities and collaborative experience, provides a strong basis for achieving tangible results in addressing the issue.
