Turkmenbashi:President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of preserving the unique ecosystem of the Caspian Sea as a collective responsibility for all littoral states during his address at the Caspian Environmental Summit.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the President highlighted the establishment of a comprehensive legal and regulatory framework by the Caspian littoral states over recent years. He noted that Azerbaijan is a signatory to nearly all international legal agreements made by the five coastal nations.
President Aliyev also underscored the historical importance of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, signed in 2018. He remarked that this convention was the culmination of long-term collaborative efforts among the five littoral states.
