Netherlands: The Netherlands showcased a dominant performance with a 4-0 victory over Hungary in their decisive Nations League clash on Saturday, while Germany put on a goal-scoring spectacle by thrashing Bosnia and Herzegovina 7-0.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, both the Netherlands and Hungary entered the match tied on five points, with the winner poised to join Germany in advancing from Group A3 to the quarter-finals.
The match saw the Netherlands take charge early on, with first-half penalties converted by Wout Weghorst and Cody Gakpo setting the tone for the Oranje. The victory was cemented in the second half with goals from Denzel Dumfries and Teun Koopmeiners. The referee paused play for approximately 10 minutes as Szalai received treatment, shielded from view by players and staff. He was eventually stretchered off, receiving applause from the crowd, and
was later reported to be in stable condition at an Amsterdam hospital.
Meanwhile, Germany solidified their position at the top of the group with a resounding win over Bosnia in Freiburg. Jamal Musiala opened the scoring early with a header from a Joshua Kimmich cross. The German side continued their dominance with Tim Kleindienst netting his first international goal and Kai Havertz adding another before halftime. Florian Wirtz contributed significantly in the second half, scoring twice, including a remarkable swerving free-kick, to complete the 7-0 rout.
