The rental manager of GUM Chynar defrauded citizens of almost $1 million and left for the USA. The victims reported on social media.
According to Yrys Kutberdiev, he wanted to open a coffee shop in the summer. He took $30,000 from an investor and started looking for premises in the shopping center.
«I went up to the store rental department. A competent man worked there. He consulted me and asked me to put down $10,000 as a deposit for the rented premises. I gave it to him because the space had to be rented urgently. We signed an agreement with him, and we were supposed to move in on July 1. It’s the end of September now. I haven’t received the premises yet,» Yrys Kutberdiev said.
It later turned out that the rental manager had rented out the same premises to three other people.
«He was the authorized person who was responsible for the rent in the shopping center. I was called and said that this man won a green card a year ago and he sold this place to three more people. There are about 100 such victims. He took $10,000-15,000 from everyone. Imagine how easy it is to earn $2 million, just if your head is working, if you are a fraudster,» the victim said.
Commenting on the situation to 24.kg news agency, the owner of GUM Chynar Nariman Tyuleev noted that he had been meeting with the victims for the second day in a row and had almost resolved the issue. He intends to pay the entire amount of damage from his own pocket.
«I took full responsibility upon myself. Let it be hard for me, but it will be good for people. A preliminary damage is estimated at $700,000-800,000. These are those who confirmed that they had transferred money for rent. There are those who come and say that he owes them too, but there is no agreement, no correspondence in messengers. There are also a lot of such scammers now,» Nariman Tyuleev said.
He has not contacted his former employee, he said.
«He went to America. He screwed us all. We are shocked. He is the ultra-modern Ostap Bender. We contacted law enforcement agencies. According to my information, they have already tracked him down and established what state he is in. We’ll get him back. I hope so. I don’t know how he will feel, because there are our compatriots in the United States too. I don’t know how he will live there. Probably every Kyrgyz who meets him will hit him in the face. The young guy ruined his life,» Nariman Tyuleev commented.
The Internal Affairs Department of Sverdlovsky district of Bishkek informed that a criminal case had been opened on this fact under Article 209 «Fraud» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. All necessary investigative actions and operational search activities are being carried out to establish the whereabouts and detain the suspect. The citizen was declared as wanted.
