Gas Price in Europe Drops Below $520

Amsterdam: The price of 1,000 cubic meters of gas in Europe has fallen below $520 at the close of auctions, marking a significant change in the energy market dynamics. This decrease was observed in the latest trading sessions, reflecting ongoing shifts in demand and supply across the continent.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, on January 27, the price of February futures on the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) index in the Netherlands, which is considered the most liquid virtual sales center in Europe, was recorded at $519.9. This represents a 3.6% decline from the previous calculation price of $539. The reduction in price highlights a notable trend in the European energy markets as they adapt to various economic and geopolitical factors.

The report also noted that the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe commenced on December 31, 2020, through the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP). This development is part of a broader strategy to diversify energy sources and enhance energy security within Europe. The TAP project plays a crucial role in delivering natural gas from the Caspian region to European markets, thus potentially influencing gas prices and market stability.
