Foreign Ministry Condemns Distorted Map Broadcast on Russian TV

Baku: The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan has expressed strong disapproval following the broadcast of a distorted map of Azerbaijan on Russia’s state-owned Channel One. The ministry has labeled the incident as a serious provocation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the display of the incorrect map during a television program has sparked concerns about the potential diplomatic repercussions between the two nations. The Azerbaijani government has reiterated the importance of accurate representation of its territorial boundaries and has urged for corrective measures to be taken by the Russian media outlet.

The incident comes amid a series of significant developments in Azerbaijan, including the relocation of families to newly constructed homes in Aghdam city and Khojavend district, as well as President Ilham Aliyev’s congratulatory message to Pope Leo XIV on the anniversary of his election. Additionally, Azerbaijan has played a prominent role in international events, having chaired the International Transport Forum’s Annual Summit.

The Foreign Ministry’s response underscores the sensitive nature of territorial integrity issues and the importance of media responsibility in international relations.
