Azerbaijani and U.S. Leaders Discuss Strategic Partnership Development


Baku:Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov engaged in a telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on October 5.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the discussion focused on the current state and future prospects of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States, as well as the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.



Both officials acknowledged the significant progress in their bilateral ties, particularly following the historic summit in Washington on August 8, 2025. They emphasized the role of working groups in advancing cooperation in priority areas identified in the Azerbaijan-U.S. Strategic Partnership Charter.



Additionally, they highlighted the achievements in 2026 under their strategic partnership, particularly agreements in energy, hydrocarbon exploration, investment, digital technologies, and trade, which were facilitated during Baku Energy Week and the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum.



Minister Bayramov shared an overview of Azerbaijan’s efforts to promote peace, build confidence, and enhance regional stability. The conversation also included discussions on other mutual interests.
