Azerbaijan and Vietnam Strengthen Academic and Scientific Ties


Baku:A Vietnamese delegation led by Nguyen Ngoc Ha, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam’s Communist Review journal, visited the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), engaging in discussions with Isa Habibbayli, the Academy’s President.



According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Habibbayli emphasized the historical relationship between Azerbaijan and Vietnam, which is deeply rooted in shared traditions. He mentioned that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev prioritizes enhancing bilateral ties, particularly noting recent advancements in educational collaborations between the two nations.



Habibbayli shared details of an international scientific conference titled ‘Literature of Asian Peoples Traditions and Modern Trends,’ which was hosted by ANAS. The conference saw participation from various Asian countries, including China, Pakistan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam.



He also highlighted the visit of a delegation from the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences during ANAS’s 80th-anniversary celebrations, indicating ongoing discussions about a potential cooperation agreement between the two academies.



Nguyen Ngoc Ha acknowledged the strong friendship between the two countries, noting that many Vietnamese alumni of Azerbaijani institutions now occupy high-ranking positions in Vietnam. He remarked on the valuable expertise these alumni acquired, particularly in the oil and gas sector. Ha stressed the importance of scientific research in the developmental progress of both countries.
