Vietnam and Azerbaijan Commit to Strengthening Bilateral Relations Through Joint Declaration


Hanoi: General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, has proposed five key goals for the implementation of the provisions outlined in the Joint Declaration signed today with President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the first goal identified by the Secretary General is to enhance relations and contacts at various levels, including party, state, parliament, and regional interactions. The second goal focuses on increasing trade and economic cooperation through the establishment of an intergovernmental commission.



To Lam highlighted the need to strengthen relations in defense and security, particularly in information security, combating transnational crime, and fighting cybercrime. This forms the third issue of the proposal.



The fourth goal emphasizes expanding cooperation across culture, sports, tourism, education, and fostering people-to-people contacts and regional collaborations.



Lastly, the Vietnamese leader stressed the importance of exchanging views on mutual interests and supporting each other in international organizations such as the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.
