Presidential Library Commemorates 103rd Anniversary of Academician Zarifa Aliyeva

Baku: An event marking the 103rd anniversary of Academician Zarifa Aliyeva was hosted at the Presidential Library. The occasion was attended by prominent figures from the fields of science and culture, state officials, and family members of the esteemed academician.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Director of the Presidential Library, Professor Afet Abbasova, initiated the event with a speech highlighting Zarifa Aliyeva’s significant contributions to Azerbaijani medical science. Professor Abbasova described Aliyeva as a pioneer who illuminated the lives of many and left a lasting impact on the nation’s memory, not only as a scientist but also as a mother and partner.

The event featured a video presentation that explored the academician’s life and her groundbreaking work in ophthalmology. Additionally, the Presidential Library introduced an electronic project, a virtual exhibition, and a traditional book exhibition, all dedicated to promoting Aliyeva’s scientific achievements.

Family member Lala Jafarova, along with writer-publicist Sharaf Jalilli, and several scholars including Jabi Bahramov and Nigar Akhundova, delivered speeches reflecting on Aliyeva’s scientific legacy and public contributions. The event celebrated her enduring influence and noble character.

The ceremony concluded with Professor Afet Abbasova expressing gratitude to all attendees for honoring the legacy of Academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
