Vice President Highlights Azerbaijan’s Potential as a Regional Gas Power

Baku: Azerbaijan already plays a central role in the diversification of regional energy, SOCAR’s Vice President Elshad Nasirov stated at the 30th Anniversary ‘Baku Energy Forum’ held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Nasirov highlighted that Azerbaijan currently exports gas to 12 countries, including Georgia, Trkiye, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Hungary, Romania, Macedonia, Croatia, and Slovenia.

Nasirov emphasized that by deeply cooperating with neighboring countries, strengthening intercountry connections, and supporting market-based trade mechanisms, Azerbaijan has the potential to become a regional gas power.

He further noted that these factors will not only bolster Azerbaijan’s position but also immediately contribute to the long-term energy security of the region.
