Baku: “The issue of tariffs will become irrelevant,” announced Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov during a public hearing at the Milli Majlis Committee for Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Soltanov emphasized that Karabakh marks a pivotal shift towards sustainable practices, having been designated as a green energy zone. He highlighted the necessity of a central heating system in the region, which is being actively pursued. This system is deemed more cost-effective and environmentally friendly, aligning with the region’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The deputy minister noted that Karabakh is being showcased as a global exemplar of sustainable energy practices.
Soltanov further elaborated that the concern over tariffs will soon lose significance. He explained that communities would have the autonomy to manage their own heating systems, with the option to collaborate with “Azeristiliktachizat” or other entities, thereby allowing citizens to make independent decisions regarding their energy needs.
