Baku: A roundtable discussion was held at the Ministry of Economy with a delegation led by Khush Choksy, Senior Vice President for the Middle East, Central Asia, and Trkiye at the US Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry told APA-Economics. The roundtable highlighted that, thanks to the political will of the heads of state, Azerbaijan-US relations have risen to the level of strategic partnership, creating broad opportunities to diversify economic cooperation. It was noted that Azerbaijan’s economic environment-formed on the principles of macroeconomic stability and sustainable development-is attractive for foreign investors.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, participants were briefed on efforts to diversify the economy and expand the non-oil and gas sector, as well as on priority strategic initiatives. Azerbaijan’s favorable transport and logistics advantages were emphasized, with particular attention to new transport links opening additional opportunities for cooperation. Information was also provided on incentives and stimuli available to entrepreneurs, digitization efforts, steps to expand investment inflows, and measures to support business development in the country.
Representatives of US companies attending the meeting expressed satisfaction with Azerbaijan’s favorable business climate and underscored their interest in developing partnerships. The roundtable reviewed next steps and potential projects to expand cooperation in energy, transport, investment, trade, industry, innovation, digitization, and other areas, and questions of interest to US companies were addressed.
The delegation includes Jennifer Miel, Vice President of Middle East, Central Asia, and Trkiye at the US Chamber of Commerce, as well as senior representatives from companies such as Apple, Ardea Energy Technologies Inc., Ericsson AB, ExxonMobil, Herbalife, Illumina, Meta, Visa, Wabtec, Baker Hughes, bp, Boeing Global, Honeywell, J.P. Morgan, Lummus Technology, Marriott, Mastercard, Shell International, Azerbaijan Coca-Cola Bottlers MMC, and Motorola Solutions.
