According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor’s Office has initiated new operations as part of its investigation into football betting. This move comes after the Turkish Football Federation discovered that referees were involved in illegal betting activities, prompting a broader probe.
The operations have been expanded significantly, with detention orders issued for numerous club managers and footballers. This development follows an earlier announcement by Istanbul Chief Prosecutor Akin Grlek, who had declared that an operation would target club presidents and referees implicated in illegal betting activities.
