Tajikistan Affirms Commitment to Baku Process for Cultural Cooperation

Baku:Tajikistan is committed to the goals and principles of the Baku Process, as stated by Tajikistan’s Minister of Culture, Matlubakhon Sattoriyon. This statement was made during a discussion titled “From Partnership to Joint Action Strengthening Global Cooperation for Intercultural Dialogue in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” held within the framework of the special joint session of the 3rd High-Level Meeting of International Organizations and the 6th Meeting of Ministers under the Baku Process in Baku.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Minister Sattoriyon emphasized the importance of prioritizing common interests, ensuring equal participation of states, and aligning technological advancements with sustainable development goals. She highlighted that technological progress should not harm cultural sustainability or marginalize languages with limited digital resources.

The minister further noted that technological advancements should be leveraged to preserve and develop national and cultural values, historical memory, and languages. In Tajikistan, cultural sovereignty protection and the full participation of national languages and cultures in artificial intelligence systems are considered vital for international cooperation in the technology sector.

Matlubakhon Sattoriyon concluded by stating that artificial intelligence should serve as a tool for preserving cultural heritage and enhancing mutual understanding, rather than exacerbating cultural inequality or alienation among different peoples.
