Russian Consulate in Moldova to cease its activities

Russia’s consulate in Chisinau is shutting down after the Moldovan government demanded that it cut its diplomatic staff by about two-thirds by August 15, the diplomatic mission announced on its “Telegram” channel, APA reports.

“Reception at the consular department of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Moldova has been temporarily suspended from August 5, 2023 for certain reasons,” the diplomatic mission said.

Official Chisinau explained his decision by Russia’s attempts to disrupt internal political stability in Moldova and numerous unfriendly actions.
