Russia to Close 20 Border Crossing Points with Ukraine from August 1, 2025

Moscow: Russia has announced the closure of 20 border crossing points with Ukraine, a move set to take effect from August 1, 2025. The Russian government has officially ordered the closure of these points, which were previously operational under a bilateral agreement with Ukraine.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the order to close the border points that were established based on an agreement dated February 8, 1995, between the governments of Russia and Ukraine. The document specifies that the closure will include 13 automobile and 7 railway crossing points, as listed in the annex of the order.

This development marks a significant shift in the management of the Russia-Ukraine border, impacting various aspects of transit and logistics between the two countries. The closing of these points has been documented in an official decree, underscoring the Russian government’s commitment to implementing the changes as scheduled.
