Shusha: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev emphasized the strength of his country’s economy during a meeting with participants of the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum. He highlighted Azerbaijan’s achievements in reducing its foreign debt to 6.9% of GDP, contrasting it with critics whose countries have debts exceeding 100% of GDP.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev detailed further successes, including a reduction in poverty from 49% to 5%. He made a point of contrasting this with France’s poverty rate, which he estimated at around 16%. The President asserted that Azerbaijan prioritizes its own development and listens to its citizens, rather than attempting to sway public opinion in Europe, which he described as a waste of time.
