Political Analyst Highlights Europe’s Support for Azerbaijan and Central Asia’s Middle Corridor

Baku: Azerbaijan’s recent accession to the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia as a full-fledged participant signals the emergence of a new transport corridor to Europe. This development will enable Central Asian countries to export their resources to the global market, shifting from their traditional trade routes through the northern corridor.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Tajik political analyst and international relations expert Muhammad Shamsuddinov discussed the significance of this initiative. He highlighted that both the United States and the European Union are keen to support the Middle Corridor, offering political and financial backing to the project.

Shamsuddinov further noted that the U.S. Congress and Senate have engaged in numerous discussions regarding the Middle Corridor’s development, particularly looking towards 2025. He pointed out that Central Asia’s wealth in natural resources, including uranium, plays a crucial role in ensuring ongoing European support for Azerbaijan and Central Asia in relation to the Middle Corridor.
