Azerbaijani President Announces 96 Percent Gas Supply Coverage

Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that the country’s gas supply has reached 96 percent coverage during a meeting focused on the State Program for the improvement of water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula for 2026-2035.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized that the 96 percent gas supply coverage pertains to the population rather than settlements. He highlighted that this achievement is a significant milestone in the infrastructure projects undertaken in Azerbaijan over the past two decades. In the past, Azerbaijan struggled to meet its domestic gas demand and had to import gas, facing considerable challenges. Presently, more than 10 countries purchase Azerbaijani natural gas, and this number continues to grow, contributing to global energy security.
