Nearly 2 Billion Manats Allocated for Azerbaijan’s Agricultural Development Through 2030

Baku: Nearly 2 billion manats will be allocated for financing the State Program on Agriculture through 2030, Finance Minister Sahil Babayev announced during the discussion of the draft law “On the Execution of the 2025 State Budget” at today’s plenary session of the Milli Majlis.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the minister emphasized that the agricultural sector is a priority area of the non-oil sector and receives substantial state support annually through subsidies, concessions, and other mechanisms financed from the state budget. The initiative represents a significant commitment by the Azerbaijani government to enhance the agricultural sector’s contribution to the national economy.

The “State Program for the Development of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture for 2026-2030,” approved by the Presidential Decree on May 25, 2026, marks a new phase in the country’s agricultural policy. The program is designed to bolster the agricultural sector, which plays a critical role in the nation’s economic diversification efforts.

Minister Babayev highlighted that nearly 2 billion manats are planned to be allocated from the state budget between 2026 and 2030 to finance this comprehensive State Program. The funding is expected to support various initiatives aimed at improving agricultural productivity, modernizing infrastructure, and fostering sustainable practices within the sector.
