More than 20,000 first graders heard the school bell for the first time and sat down at their desks today, on September 1. Press service of the Bishkek City Hall reported.
Officials recalled that the capital’s education system consists of 103 schools and gymnasiums, 95 pre-school educational organizations and six out-of-school organizations.
A dynamic growth in the number of students is registered annually (by 8,589 children on average). This is due to an increase in the birth rate and internal migration.
