Shamakhi: A conference on ‘Modern Information Space and Freedom of Religious Belief’ is being held in Shamakhi, APA’s Shirvan bureau reports. The conference, taking place on July 15-16, is jointly organized by the State Committee on Religious Institutions and the Media Development Agency.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event is held in connection with the Year of Constitution and Sovereignty in Azerbaijan and the 150th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s National Press. It brought together leadership from the State Committee, the Media Development Agency, the Shamakhi District Executive Authority, members of the Milli Majlis, media representatives, and religious leaders.
Conference participants first visited the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Heydar Aliyev Park in Shamakhi, paying tribute and laying flowers in his honor.
The conference will feature discussions on ensuring freedom of religious belief in the modern information environment, the implementation of existing legislation in this area, increasing the effectiveness of religious enlightenment through the use of digital media, and promoting a healthy religious mindset in public consciousness.
The conference will consist of two main panel sessions. The program also includes a media tour of religious temples located in Shamakhi.
