Azerbaijan achieving a clean environment and “green growth” by 2030, Garabagh, Eastern Zangazur and Nakhchivan developing as green energy zones, Azerbaijan’s strategy that aims to become a supplier of green energy strategy encourages the development of Azerbaijan- Trkiye energy cooperation in this new direction, said Parviz Shahbazov, the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan during the panel speech of Azerbaijan-Trkiye Investment Forum dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Great Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and the establishment of the Republic of Trkiye, APA reports.
According to him, cooperation with Trkiye on the production and export of green energy has already started: ‘In the following years, Trkiye is one of our main partners in our plans about creating up to 10 GW of green energy power and exporting 5 GW of it through various routes. The main centers of gravity of our green energy partnership with Trkiye are our geostrategically important regions such as Nakhchivan, Garabagh and Eastern Zangazur.’
Parviz Shahbazov also noted that establishment of Azerbaijan-Trkiye-Europe energy corridor is one of the main priorities in accordance with the strategic goal of exporting more than 1000 MW of energy from Nakhchivan to Trkiye and Europe.
