Miami: Argentine Javier Mascherano has decided to resign as head coach of American soccer club Inter Miami.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mascherano expressed gratitude to the club for the trust they placed in him and acknowledged the collective efforts of everyone in the organization, particularly the players. “First and foremost, I would like to thank the club for the trust they have placed in me, everyone in the organization for their collective efforts, and especially the players, thanks to whom we have been able to experience unforgettable moments,” Mascherano said. He also extended his appreciation to the fans, emphasizing their indispensable role in the club’s achievements. He remarked, “I will always cherish the memory of our first star, and wherever I am, I will continue to wish the club all the best for the future. I have no doubt that the club will continue to achieve success. I send you all a big hello and thank you for everything.”
Mascherano, 41, has been at the helm of Inter Miami since November 2024. During his tenure, he led the team to its first Major League Soccer (MLS) title. Prior to joining Inter Miami, Mascherano managed the Argentina Olympic and U21 national teams.
