Joint Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Tourism Route Unveiled in Berlin

Berlin:A new tourism route, the ‘Joint Silk Road Highlights Tour,’ has been introduced in Berlin, marking a collaboration between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. This initiative aims to showcase the tourism potential of both nations to the European market and attract a greater number of international visitors.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event is part of a joint initiative stemming from a memorandum of understanding signed between the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and the Uzbekistan National PR Center in July 2026. This collaboration focuses on creating a unified tourism product that highlights the historical and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, along with their shared traditions linked to the Great Silk Road.

The presentation in Berlin was attended by representatives from over 20 companies and more than 40 professionals from Germany’s tourism sector. Attendees were briefed on the offerings of the new route, which includes visits to historical cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Baku, Shamakhi, and Sheki. These destinations promise travelers an immersive experience of the region’s rich cultural legacy, architectural marvels, and enduring traditions from both Azerbaijani and Uzbek cultures.

Additionally, the event facilitated meetings with German tourism industry representatives, aimed at fostering business relations, forging new partnerships, and expanding avenues to market joint tourism products throughout Europe. The initiative is expected to bolster international tourism cooperation, diversify tourism offerings, and enhance tourist exchanges between the two countries. It also provides travelers with expanded opportunities to delve into the cultural and historical essence of the Great Silk Road by integrating notable historical sites from Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan into a single tour.
