Greek Media Discusses Energy Cooperation with Azerbaijan


Athens:Talks in Athens have centered on expanding energy cooperation between Greece and Azerbaijan.



According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Greek media outlets such as ‘iefimerida,’ ‘iEnergeia,’ and ‘Parapolitika’ have extensively covered a meeting between Greece’s Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou, and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov.



The discussions focused on strengthening energy collaboration, enhancing European energy security, diversifying natural gas sources and supply routes, and exploring the development prospects of the Southern Gas Corridor. Greece’s role as a regional energy hub was also highlighted, with significant attention given to the development of new energy routes.



The strategic importance of the Vertical Corridor was underscored, as it could expand access to alternative energy sources and strengthen regional energy security. Additionally, cooperation is not limited to natural gas; opportunities in renewable energy, energy transition, clean energy technologies, and experience exchange were also discussed.
