Georgia’s Trade Turnover with Azerbaijan Decreased


Tbilisi: Last month, the trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan amounted to 98.1 million US dollars.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, citing Georgia’s National Statistics Office, this marks a decrease of 9.92% on an annual basis.



In January, trade with Azerbaijan constituted 6.1% of Georgia’s total foreign trade turnover. Among Georgia’s main trading partners, Azerbaijan ranked fifth, following Turkey, China, Russia, and the United States. Georgia exported goods worth 42.8 million US dollars to Azerbaijan, which is 7.6% less than in the same period last year. Azerbaijan stood as Georgia’s fourth-largest export partner, after China, Turkey, and Kyrgyzstan, with a share of 8.9% in Georgia’s total exports.



The value of goods imported by Georgia from Azerbaijan decreased by 11.9% year-on-year to 55.3 million US dollars. Azerbaijan ranked as Georgia’s fifth-largest import partner, after Turkey, China, Russia, and the United States, with a 4.9% share. During the reporting month, Georgia’s total foreign trade turnover amounted to 1.61 billion US dollars, of which 480.4 million US dollars accounted for exports and 1.13 billion US dollars for imports.
