The Bishkek Mayor’s Office and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding, the municipality reported. The document was signed by Bishkek Mayor Emilbek Abdykadyrov and Korean Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Lee Wonjae. The purpose of this grant project is to increase the administrative capacity of the mayor’s office by providing the technical equipment and a car for the needs of the municipality free of charge, the report said. The mayor noted the importance of deepening intercity cooperation, as well as developing mutually beneficial cooperation with the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and expressed gratitude for the financial assistance provided by the mayor’s office. In conclusion, the mayor expressed interest in the development of fruitful bilateral cooperation in the implementation and further joint projects of social, cultural and humanitarian development.
