Baku:Government agencies are being urged to restrict artificial intelligence (AI) from having direct access to critical production databases and information systems. Elkhan Sadigli, Head of the Red Team and Artificial Intelligence Security Group at the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security, made these recommendations during the 8th Summit of IT Heads of Government Agencies.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Sadigli emphasized the importance of preventing AI technologies from using data for retraining purposes in order to safeguard sensitive systems. He stressed that international and European standards, such as ISO 42001 and NIST AI, are being used as guidelines alongside the agency’s specific requirements.
Sadigli noted that vulnerabilities in AI systems are leading to data leaks and prompt injections, which pose significant risks. He also suggested the introduction of a certification mechanism for AI use, comparing it to the necessity of obtaining a driver’s license. This would potentially involve users undergoing an examination before being allowed to operate AI devices or tools.
