Digitalization to Enhance Efficiency of Azerbaijan’s Middle Corridor

Accra:To boost the efficiency of transit transportation, Azerbaijan is modernizing its border crossing infrastructure, simplifying customs procedures, and enhancing information exchange between government agencies.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport detailed these initiatives, highlighting that the country has 12 active border crossing points with a total daily capacity of 4,350 vehicles in one direction. The recently operational Khanoba modular border crossing point on the Azerbaijan-Russia border and the Astara modular border crossing point on the Azerbaijan-Iran border aim to improve traffic flow management and increase the competitiveness of international transport corridors.

A key focus is the digitalization of transport and logistics processes. The Single Window Information System – Digital Logistics Platform, established by the ministry, accelerates document circulation, simplifies procedures, and creates a more flexible logistics ecosystem. The next phase involves integrating the platform with similar systems of partner countries along the Middle Corridor, further enhancing the route’s efficiency.
