Deputy Minister Announces End to Natural Gas Supply for Multi-Storey Buildings in Favor of Centralized Heating

Baku: In a strategic move towards enhancing safety, Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov has announced that natural gas will no longer be supplied to multi-storey buildings in a few years. This announcement was made during a public hearing organized by the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Committee for Natural Resources, Energy, and Ecology, concerning the new draft law ‘On Heat Supply.’

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the deputy minister highlighted the dangers associated with supplying natural gas to multi-storey buildings. He emphasized that the implementation of the new law would address these concerns by ceasing natural gas supply to such buildings. The draft law also outlines the creation of centralized heat supply systems as a safer alternative.

The decision to end natural gas supply to multi-storey buildings is part of a broader strategy to improve safety standards and modernize heating infrastructure. The centralized heat supply systems are expected to provide a more secure and efficient method of heat distribution, reducing potential hazards associated with natural gas.
