Children aged 5-14 more often infected with Hepatitis A – Health Ministry

“Hepatitis A (infectious jaundice or Botkin’s disease) is a viral disease of the liver. It is a self-healing disease that causes acute inflammation in the liver and does not cause damage to the liver. Unlike hepatitis B and C, hepatitis A does not cause chronic liver disease,” Emin Mammadov, an expert of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan said, APA reports.

According to experts, this virus has existed for many years, it has been fully studied and there is even a vaccine against it.

“Infection occurs as a result of a violation of some hygiene rules and causes its spread.

Especially children aged 5-14 are more infected with Hepatitis A virus. Parents should not panic in cases of infection in children. At this time, they should appeal to pediatricians, isolate their children under the supervision of a doctor, and receive treatment.”
