Baku: On the eve of the 27th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Special Forces, a voluntary blood donation campaign was organized at one of the military units, the Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC. This initiative was aimed at contributing to the national blood reserves and supporting individuals with blood disorders.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, during the campaign, medical staff from the Mobile Blood Collection Branch of the Republican Blood Bank, operating under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, conducted health checks on donors before collecting blood. The process ensured that all donated blood met health and safety standards.
The collected blood samples are set to undergo examination and certification before being transferred to the appropriate authorities. This will facilitate their use in treating patients with hereditary blood disorders. The campaign’s primary goal is to bolster blood reserves for individuals suffering from conditions such as thalassemia, hemophilia, and leukemia. It also aims to promote the tradition of voluntary and unpaid blood donation within both society and the military, while ensuring a consistent supply of blood and its components.
