Baku: Azerbaijan’s gross domestic product (GDP) experienced a growth of 1.5 percent during the first half of 2025, reaching 62 billion 78.2 million manats.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this increase was reported by the State Statistical Committee, highlighting a significant economic development compared to the same period in the previous year.
The data reveals a contrasting trend within different sectors of the economy. The oil and gas sector saw a decline in added value by 3.1 percent, while the non-oil and gas sector experienced a rise of 3.9 percent. This indicates a shift towards diversification in the country’s economic activities.
The composition of GDP production was varied, with 34.9 percent attributed to industry, 10.2 percent to trade and vehicle repair, and 7.0 percent to transportation and warehousing. Other notable sectors included construction at 6.3 percent, agriculture, forestry, and fishing at 5.9 percent, and accommodation and public catering services for tourists at 2.8 percent. The information and communication sectors contributed 1.8 percent, while 21.1 percent was attributed to other sectors. Net taxes on products and imports represented 10.0 percent of the GDP.
The GDP per capita for this period amounted to 6066.1 manats, reflecting the country’s economic progress and the distribution of economic output among its population.
