Azerbaijan’s Central Bank to Implement Liquidity Coverage Ratio in Manats

Baku: The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) is set to introduce the liquidity coverage ratio in the national currency, the manat, beginning this year. Shahin Mahmudzade, Director General of the CBA, shared this development, emphasizing the strategic move towards greater financial stability, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the implementation of the liquidity coverage ratio aims to shift financial demand from foreign currencies to the manat. Mahmudzade stated that the primary objective is to address dollarization by promoting increased usage of the national currency, thereby enhancing manatization trends. This initiative reflects the CBA’s commitment to strengthening the national currency’s role in the country’s financial system.
