Azerbaijan’s ANAMA Finds 440 Landmines and 2807 UXOs in Liberated Territories


Baku: Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has announced the discovery of 440 landmines and 2,807 unexploded ordnance (UXOs) in the liberated territories as part of their weekly operations conducted between June 23 and June 29, 2025. The announcement was made by ANAMA to APA.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the operations led to the identification of 333 anti-personnel mines and 107 anti-tank mines across various regions including Tartar, Aghdam, Aghdara, Lachin, Fuzuli, Shusha, Khojaly, Khankandi, Kalbajar, Khojavand, Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan.



In total, ANAMA reported that a vast area of 6,618.1 hectares has been cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance, marking significant progress in ensuring the safety and security of these territories. The clearance efforts continue to play a crucial role in facilitating the safe return of displaced residents and the development of infrastructure in these regions.
