Azerbaijani President Accuses Armenia of Polluting Araz River

Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has raised concerns over environmental issues involving Armenia, specifically accusing it of polluting the Araz River. He made these remarks during an international forum themed ‘Facing the New World Order’ held at ADA University.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev suggested initiating small steps such as the exchange of visits by journalists and intellectuals, and potentially organizing joint sessions on transboundary river concerns. He emphasized the importance of addressing these issues, highlighting the need for a more proper approach to the Kura River on its route to Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijani leader underlined the potential practical impact of these initiatives, noting that while building trust may take years, such measures could help reduce existing mistrust between the nations. President Aliyev expressed his readiness to engage in efforts aimed at addressing these environmental concerns.
