Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan’s pivotal role in facilitating dialogue between the Global South and Global North. Addressing an international forum titled ‘Facing the New World Order’ at ADA University, President Aliyev highlighted significant achievements during Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of COP.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev noted the breakthrough agreement on making the carbon market functional, an issue unresolved for over a decade. This milestone was achieved in Azerbaijan, attributed to the trust vested in the country’s leadership.
He further elaborated on Azerbaijan’s efforts to foster stronger ties with African nations. The approach to tackling global challenges like COVID-19, hosting COP events, and engaging in bilateral contacts with African countries has been well-received. President Aliyev reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to enhancing foreign policy relations with African nations as part of its strategic agenda.
