Azerbaijani and Saudi Arabian Military Leaders Discuss Enhanced Cooperation


Riyadh: The official visit of a delegation led by Colonel General Karim Valiyev, First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is currently underway. During this visit, Colonel General Valiyev met with General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Chief of General Staff of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the visit commenced with an official welcoming ceremony at the Saudi General Staff. Both Chiefs of Staff inspected the guard of honor, listened to the national anthems of their respective countries, and signed the Book of Honor as per the protocol. Following this, an expanded meeting involving both delegations was held to discuss the future prospects of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia.



The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in military, military-technical, and military education fields, as well as other areas of mutual interest. General Al-Ruwaili and Colonel General Valiyev reviewed bilateral relations and explored opportunities for expanding defense and military cooperation.



This meeting marks a significant step in strengthening ties between the military establishments of Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia, as both sides engaged in an in-depth exchange of views on various topics of common interest.
