Azerbaijani And Cypriot Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Peace Efforts

Baku: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov engaged in a phone conversation with his Cypriot counterpart, Constantinos Kombos. The discussion, reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, took place on August 20, 2025, as per information from Trend News Agency.

According to Trend News Agency, during the call, Minister Kombos extended congratulations to Azerbaijan for its achievements in the ongoing normalization process with Armenia. This follows a summit meeting that occurred during the Azerbaijani president’s visit to the United States.

The conversation also covered Cyprus’ upcoming Presidency of the European Union (EU) Council, scheduled for the first half of 2026. The Cypriot minister expressed the country’s willingness to contribute to peace efforts within the region. The ministers exchanged views on other topics of mutual interest as well.
