Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Georgia Explore Middle Corridor Development Cooperation


Tashkent: Prospects for cooperation on the development of the Middle Corridor between Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Georgia have been discussed, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) told APA-Economics. Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of ADY, met on February 9, 2026, in Tashkent with Zufar Narzullayev, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Railways JSC, and Lasha Abashidze, Director General of Georgian Railways JSC.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the meeting, issues of mutual interest were discussed, including cooperation in the railway sector among the three countries. The talks also focused on prospects for collaboration to ensure more efficient organization of freight transportation from Central Asia toward Europe via the Middle Corridor.



It was emphasized that expanding the application of digital solutions is essential to further increase cargo volumes along this corridor and attract new freight. The initiative aims to enhance connectivity and streamline logistics operations, potentially boosting trade and economic relations among the involved nations.
