Azerbaijan to Establish Unified Information System for Prisoners Receiving Vocational Education

Baku: A unified information system will be established to track data on prisoners who have benefited from vocational education, APA reports. This initiative is part of the ‘2025-2030 Action Plan for Improving the Quality of Vocational Education and Upgrading Existing Infrastructure in Penal Institutions,’ which was approved by a decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the decree mandates that the Cabinet of Ministers, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Science and Education, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, ensure the development of a regulatory legal framework for the creation of the unified information system between 2025 and 2027. This system will document the vocational education received by inmates and the educational documents they obtain. Additionally, the system will be launched and integrated into the information systems of 10 relevant state bodies through the Electronic Government Information System.
