The meetings occurred during the third high-level assembly of anti-corruption law enforcement officials from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states, scheduled in Baku on October 27-28.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the meetings were aimed at discussing legal and institutional reforms in Azerbaijan, undertaken under President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership. These reforms focus on enhancing transparency and accountability in public administration and improving anti-corruption measures.

In the meeting with Amr Adel Hosni, Chairman of Egypt’s Administrative Control Authority, the historical and respectful relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt were highlighted. Discussions referred to a meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, noting the significance of high-level political dialogue and cooperation in international forums like the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Meanwhile, during discussions with Adam Shamil, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission of the Maldives, the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1994 and the importance of political dialogue and cooperation within international organizations were emphasized. The visit of Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu to Azerbaijan for COP29 was recalled as a notable event.

Both meetings covered topics such as preventing and detecting corruption-related offenses, expanding information exchange, and enhancing the effectiveness of international legal cooperation.
