Azerbaijan Earns Over $200 Million from Fruit and Vegetable Exports in Q1 of 2025


Baku: Azerbaijan exported 175.7 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables worth $207.1 million between January and April 2025. This achievement highlights Azerbaijan’s increasing presence in the global agricultural market.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, data from the State Customs Committee revealed that the export value increased by 14.8% or $26.8 million compared to the same period last year. Additionally, the volume of exports rose by 17.5% or 26.1 thousand tons. In the first four months of 2024, Azerbaijan’s exports amounted to 149.5 thousand tons valued at $180.3 million.



During the reporting period, the main exported fruit and vegetable products included tomatoes, which were valued at $70.7 million for 60.2 thousand tons, and hazelnuts worth $53.9 million for 7.97 thousand tons. Other significant exports were persimmons at $32.9 million for 45.8 thousand tons, apples at $26.6 million for 38.8 thousand tons, pomegranates at $4.3 million for 5 thousand tons, and potatoes at $1.8 million for 5.1 thousand tons.



Fruits and vegetables constituted 2.36% of total exports and 19.38% of non-oil exports for the reported period, reflecting their importance in Azerbaijan’s export economy.
