Baku: Azerbaijan and Pakistan are on the brink of signing a memorandum aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fight against corruption. This development was announced by the Deputy Chairman of Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) at the 6th plenary meeting of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities, organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Baku.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Deputy Chairman emphasized the importance of international cooperation in combating corruption. He highlighted that Pakistan is eager to collaborate with Azerbaijan in this field. The Deputy Chairman also noted the recent declaration by Pakistan’s Prime Minister to foster trade and investment ties with Azerbaijan, acknowledging that these new ventures might present corruption challenges. He expressed the potential for both nations to share experiences and conduct joint training sessions, particularly in addressing money laundering.
The Deputy Chairman extended his appreciation to Azerbaijan for hosting the event and expressed Pakistan’s readiness to support and collaborate with Azerbaijan in tackling corruption.
